The Eurasian Development Bank predicts that Kyrgyzstan’s GDP will grow by 3.2 percent by the end of 2018. The macroeconomic review published the day before says.
According to it, at the end of 2018, accelerated economic growth was noted against the background of the low base of the previous year in the production of base metals and an increase in annual gold production at Kumtor mine to 490,000-510,000 ounces.
«In the medium term, economic growth will develop close to the potential level with the gradual reduction of the budget deficit and more moderate growth in remittance inflow,» the report says.
For 2019, the EDB forecasts GDP growth of 3.9 percent, and for 2020 — 4.2 percent. In 2021, economic growth will slow down to 3.7 percent.
