Asel Koduranova was relieved of her post of Vice Speaker of Parliament. Members of SDPK faction removed her from office by a majority of votes. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
On Wednesday, December 12, the Vice Speaker of the Parliament Asel Koduranova, presiding at a plenary meeting, included on the agenda the issue of political persecution of the former politician Omurbek Babanov.
Speaker of the Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov suggested first discussing the topic of Omurbek Babanov at the committee meetings. Later, most of the deputies voted against discussion of this issue. It was removed from the parliamentary agenda.
SDPK faction regarded Asel Koduranova’s decision to put the question of Omurbek Babanov for discussion as a demarche.
