Residents of 3 villages in Leilek district of Batken region held a rally in support of the former adviser to the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov. The protest rally was held in a small motherland of the ex-adviser — in Katran village. Head of the district Baimurat Bekmuratov confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the rally participants asked the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov to objectively investigate the criminal case against Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov.
«They ask the head of state to objectively investigate the case of Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov and change his preventive measure for house arrest. As I know, they are now collecting signatures under the appeal to the authorities of the country. There are no meetings in the village today,» told Baimurat Bekmuratov.
According to some information, 50-60 people from Katran, Baul and Ozgorush villages participated in the rally.
Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov was placed in the pretrial detention center of the State Committee for National Security until November 28. This decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek. Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov was charged with fraud.
