A resident of Tyup district kept 72.5 kilograms of marijuana at home. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Illegal Drug Trafficking Control Service has successfully carried out a special operation to detect, suppress and eliminate a large-scale drug trafficking channel.
A criminal case was initiated on the facts under article 247 - illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment for sale, as well as illegal production or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors - of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the criminal case, an authorized search was conducted at the place of residence of a citizen on October 6, who lives in one of the villages of Tyup district. The investigators found six bags of marijuana in one of the rooms.
The detainee was placed in a pretrial detention center. Operational search activities to detect other persons involved in drug trafficking continue.
