Russia bans import of counterfeit clothing from Kyrgyzstan

Chelyabinsk customs officers detained a consignment of counterfeit clothing Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana from Kyrgyzstan. Kommersant reports.

According to the agency, Chelyabinsk customs officers suppressed an attempt to import a batch of counterfeit clothing into the region. A truck with goods went from Kyrgyzstan to Yekaterinburg via Troitsk checkpoint.

Sports suits, jeans, blouses and shirts with labels of famous brands were found during a search in the truck. More than 800 pieces of clothing were marked with Gucci, Reebok, Adidas, Puma, Philipp Plein, Dolce & Gabbana trademarks.

According to the copyright holders, a provisional amount of the damage caused exceeds 3 million rubles. The goods were confiscated and handed over to the police. The violators face a penalty of up to two years in prison.
