Kyrgyzstan plans to ban hunting for argali and red deer

It is planned to ban hunting for argali, red deer and wild boars in Kyrgyzstan. The deputies of the Parliament made a proposal.

It is noted that argali and other wild ungulates became the main object of VIP hunting. Groups of not more than 20 animals prevail in Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions. The average density of the ibex and argali on the territory of 17,000 kilometers does not exceed one animal per square kilometer, which is 20 times less than the norm.

The decrease in the number of wild ungulates becomes a direct condition for the extinction of snow leopards.

In order to ensure effective protection and reproduction of the biological diversity of the animal world, it is proposed to introduce a moratorium from 2020 to 2030 on hunting for the argali, ibex, red deer and wild boars.
