The Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case on the fact of overpricing the works carried out during the construction of a hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata. The press service of the agency reported.
It was found out that for holding the World Nomad Games, the Ministry of Finance allocated 1,584 billion soms for the construction of facilities (including additional funds).
The audit revealed the misuse of money and the overestimation of the cost of work performed in the construction of a sports complex. According to the intermediate results of the audit of the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic, material damage to the state amounted to 202.8 million soms.
The investigation of the criminal case was entrusted to the Main Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Earlier, the Corruption Control Service of the SCNS, together with the Accounts Chamber, checked the reasonability of spending of the funds during the construction of the hippodrome in Baktuu-Dolonotu village for the 2nd World Nomad Games.
