Kyrgyzstan is looking for a plant to assemble electric vehicles. Shumkarbek Adylbek uulu, Director of the State Agency for Attraction of Investments, told journalists.
According to him, the production of electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan can be launched on the basis of factories in Jalal-Abad, Chui region and Bishkek. «It is necessary to attract an investor to implement this project. Kyrgyzstan has potential to produce electric vehicles, we have the necessary energy resources and can become a kind of gateway to Central Asia for electric vehicles,» explained Shumkarbek Adylbek uulu.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, being on a state visit to Beijing, visited the headquarters of BAIC Group and proposed to establish a joint venture in Kyrgyzstan for the production of electric vehicles. Representatives of the company are to come to the Kyrgyz Republic to make a decision onsite.
