The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov today met with representatives of public associations of the families of the killed, injured and participants of April People’s Revolution 2010.
The meeting began with a reading of the Koran in memory of the passed away heroes of the April Revolution.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that Kyrgyzstan had made a difficult way of establishment, had experienced economic and political difficulties. But, despite all the hardships, the people of Kyrgyzstan have retained their statehood.
«There are many examples in the history of Kyrgyzstan, when the people of the country united around a common goal, stood up for the defense of freedom, and the April People’s Revolution is such an example,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

«You were among those who, at the cost of their lives, saved the country from destruction. You stood on that day on Ala-Too square under bullets, looked death into the eyes. You showed will and courage. Your feat will live in the memory of the people of Kyrgyzstan forever,» he said.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov stressed that the people of Kyrgyzstan would not forget the heroes of the People’s April Revolution.
The head of state stressed that the power in the country should serve the interests of the people, not individual politicians.
«I, as a man, who stood at the origins of the struggle against the family-clan regime, know how hard the people’s victory was in April 2010. And I, as president, guarantee that I will not allow reoccurrence of family and clan rule in the country. I know that many people want the interests of certain groups of politicians to prevail in the country again, but I will never allow this,» Sooronbai Jeenbekov said.
