The Issyk-Kul District Court sentenced members of the religious organization Yakyn Inkar, banned in Kyrgyzstan, to two years in a penal colony. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Issyk-Kul region informed 24.kg news agency.
Earlier, 24.kg news agency told about a family in which the parents were members of the extremist organization Yakin Inkar. They forbade their children to go to school and lived reclusively. The prosecutor’s office of Issyk-Kul district initiated a criminal case against them.
According to the supervisory authority, the father of the family was taken into custody in the courtroom, and mother were given a respite until her younger child turns 14.
«The couple was found guilty under the Article «Failure to fulfill the duties on bringing up a minor» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The parents, according to the verdict of the court, must serve their sentence in a penal colony,» the prosecutor’s office noted.
