Kyrgyzstan and China train specialists for transport and automotive industries

China is implementing educational and technological initiatives in the transport and automotive sectors of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Ministry of Education, representatives from the Academy of Railway Sciences of China and Lanzhou Jiaotong University visited vocational lyceum No. 97 in Bishkek. The visit is part of the Belt and Road project and the planned construction of China—Kyrgyzstan—Uzbekistan railway.

The parties discussed creating a joint laboratory at the lyceum, introducing digital technologies in logistics, and coordinating technical standards.

Meanwhile, cooperation with the Chinese automobile corporation Changan was discussed remotely at Osh Technological University.

The sides considered establishment of a joint venture and launching new training programs in electric vehicle assembly and repair. The curriculum will follow a 2+1+1 model, with students studying two years at Osh Technological University, one year at the Chongqing Vocational Institute in China, and completing their final year at their home university. Inclusion of Chinese language courses in the program is also under consideration.
