Carriers-violators to be deprived of right to work on routes in Bishkek

The Mayor of Bishkek Albek Ibraimov held a meeting on optimization of public transport sphere. The press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.

The mayor noted that the bodies within their powers are obliged to take measures to organize, provide and control comfortable and safe conditions for the transportation of citizens in public transport.

The City Transport Department was instructed to work out the issue of depriving the transport operators of the right to work on the capital’s routes in cases of gross violations of the rules.

The department was also instructed to develop new route plans, including ring ones, for the large buses that exclude duplication with the public transport, taking into account the need to free the central part of the city from the movement of minibuses, to change the route plans for buses, trolleybuses, minibuses of private transport operators, taking into account the schedule of construction and repair of the city roads in 2018.

In addition, Albek Ibraimov demanded from the supervising deputy mayor to speed up the tender process for the purchase of large capacity buses. The department of interaction with law enforcement agencies was instructed to identify the transport operators, involved in the unauthorized campaign to disrupt passenger traffic in the city.

Recall, on April 2-3, drivers of minibuses did not go to work. They submitted a number of demands to the Bishkek City Administration. Officials will respond to them after the study.
