In 2019, Bishkek budget revenues will amount to 8,430 billion soms. The First Vice Mayor of Bishkek, Almaz Baketaev, announced this at the public hearings on the draft budget.
According to him, the city administration plans to increase funding of housing and utilities sector and to direct the large share of expenses to the education system (3.5 billion soms).
He noted that the budget was drawn up based on City of Favorable Conditions — a four-year development program adopted in October 2017. It includes the implementation of activities for about 300 billion soms.
The city budget is growing every year. By 2020, the treasury of Bishkek may reach 10 billion soms.

The first vice mayor stressed that the city administration optimizes costs. For example, it is planned to reduce the reserve fund to 32 million soms.
A separate item in the budget is repayment of loans. At least 200 million soms were budgeted for it.
