CEC cannot deprive Omurbek Babanov of deputy seat due to absence of notice

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan has not yet deprived Omurbek Babanov of his deputy seat. As Kairat Osmonaliev, a member of the commission told 24.kg news agency, a notice from the politician had not been received so far.

Earlier, the former presidential candidate, member of the Parliament Omurbek Babanov, announced his resignation from the big politics and deputy post.

Kairat Osmonaliev told that in the next few days the CEC could deprive the deputy Kanatbek Isaev, who was sentenced on January 4 by the Pervomaiskiy District Court of Bishkek to 12 years in prison, of his deputy seat. «If he does not appeal the verdict, the verdict of the first instance court will come into force 10 days after the announcement, and then the Central Election Commission will be able to deprive Kanatbek Isaev of his mandate, since he has a criminal record,» Kairat Osmonaliev said.

As for Aida Salyanova, as Kairat Osmonaliev explained, she could be deprived of her seat after the decision of the Supreme Court, if it upholds the verdicts of the first two instance courts.
