Ex-deputies of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan sue CEC

Former deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Farkhat Ismailov and Farkhodbek Alimzhanov, who were deprived of their mandates by the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) due to the lack of diplomas of higher education, appealed to the Bishkek City Court.

They are challenging the decision of the Administrative Court, which recognized the decision of the CEC as lawful. A date for hearing of the application has not yet been announced.

In addition, Farkhodbek Alimzhanov filed a lawsuit against the Osh State University. His lawyer Taalaigul Toktakunova confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

«The CEC deprived Alimzhanov of his mandate based on the decision of the Osh State University, but it had to be made by the Ministry of Education and Science. That is, the procedure was violated. Alimzhanov also claims that he passed all the exams,» the lawyer explained.

Recall, the CEC received the materials of the State Committee for National Security on April 8, 2022. Then it sent a request to the Ministry of Education. The statement of the rector’s office of the Kyrgyz National University that Farkhat Ismailov did not receive a diploma was not enough to start a discussion. The CEC considered the issue a year later.
