Kyrgyzstan intends to dewater Kirov reservoir

It is planned to discharge water from Kirov reservoir for carrying out of repair-restoration works from October 18. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, it is planned to discharge the entire volume of water until the reservoir is completely empty.

As it is noted, for the accident-free water passage the Ministry will notify the water users of Manas district of Talas region of Kyrgyzstan and Shu-Talas basin inspection of Kazakhstan.

Kyrgyzstan uses 12 percent of the water from Kirov reservoir, the rest is provided to Kazakhstan under an agreement.

The message of the Ministry of Agriculture about carrying out of repair-restoration works on object has coincided with toughening of the boundary control on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.
