Tajikistan takes over CIS presidency in 2018

The chairmanship in CIS Council in 2018 goes to Tajikistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday at a meeting in Sochi.

At the meeting in an expanded format, the head of Tajikistan outlined the priorities for 2018. «Cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources will be activated in the energy sector. It is necessary to bring to a new level cooperation in the field of transit. It is important to pay attention to logistics, as well as to develop social and labor relations and migration,» Emomali Rahmon explained.

He added that joint efforts would promote multifaceted ties in the format of the Commonwealth.

Note, this year, the CIS Council is chaired by Russia.
