SCNS calls Omurbek Babanov's statement not true

Omurbek Babanov’s statement is not true. The State Committee for National Security reported.

According to the press center of the special services, the information announced by the presidential candidate that 65 percent of voters are ready to vote for Babanov is not true.

Yesterday, at a special press conference Omurbek Babanov said that he won in the first round of elections.

The SCNS stated that neither he nor his «pre-election ratings are of any interest to the national security agencies.»

The committee regards the candidate’s statements as an attempt «to divert public opinion and the investigation into organization of mass riots with the following attempt to seize power with the participation of his active supporter and members of the organized criminal group into the political mainstream.»

The presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan are scheduled for October 15.
