The lawyers of the leader of Ata Meken party ask the court to give them an opportunity to get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case. They announced this at a court hearing today.
According to them, only two of seven volumes have been studied.
Omurbek Tekebayev also said that he did not get acquainted with the case materials.
«The investigation of my case was conducted according to the schedule approved from above. Even the date of the trial was set by the leadership. The investigators hurried, but did not have enough time. Nevertheless, I and lawyers were not given enough time and opportunity to get acquainted with the case. My right of defense was violated. I ask to give me the opportunity to get acquainted with the case. I think two weeks will be enough for me to analyze the materials," Omurbek Tekebayev said.
However, the judge Aibek Ernis uulu decided to give the defendants and their lawyers time to study the case until Thursday, June 8.
Recall, he and the former head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duyshonkul Chotonov are accused of corruption.
