Kyrgyzstan to study Altai civilization

Kyrgyzstan will study Altai civilization. An international forum «Altai civilization and related peoples of the Altai language family» will be held on July 20–22. Adviser to the President Mira Karybaeva told journalists.

According to her, the congress will become a new platform for discussing the results of recent scientific research, educational and cultural projects aimed at strengthening the humanitarian ties of the peoples inhabiting the vast territories of Eurasia these days.

According to the head of the Presidential Administration, about 80 Altai scientists, historians, archaeologists, ethnographers, anthropologists, linguists, researchers of folklore, art and cultural heritage from near and far abroad will take part in the event.

«The forum will lay foundation for carrying out new comprehensive long-term studies, expanding scientific and educational ties, popularizing the common heritage of material and intangible culture of the kinsmen of the Altai language family living on the territory of Eurasia," the state employee said.
