Oleg Pankratov: Kazakhstan abuses veto right in EEU

»Kazakhstan to some extent abuses the right of veto in the Eurasian Economic Union and does not support the decision to recognize the system of veterinary control of Kyrgyzstan equivalent to the norms of the Union," Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov said at a meeting of the Parliament today.

According to him, the work on eliminating the comments of EEU partners and the Eurasian Economic Commission is ongoing. Therewith, the remarks to the veterinary system themselves are not systemic in nature. This is evidenced by the fact that, after the audit, three countries and the EEC gave a conclusion that the domestic system of veterinary control is ready to ensure the safety of products.

»Kazakhstan does not agree with this. But by the end of the year, we will take all the recommendations. And we will again raise the issue of recognizing the system equivalent at EEC Council. As for the laboratories, as of today, we are ready to carry out supervision in full format with existing laboratories and their accreditation. Let it be time-consuming, but we can do it," Oleg Pankratov said.
