Assigning of EEU observer status to Moldova to be discussed in Bishkek

Assigning of EEU observer status to Moldova will be discussed at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Bishkek, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.

It is noted that the meeting will be held on April 14. The agenda includes issues in the field of macroeconomics, customs regulation and international economic cooperation with the third countries. In addition, changes in the EEC work schedule will be discussed.

The presidents of the EEU countries will hear the report «On the implementation of the main directions of the international activity of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2015-2016,» consider the application for assigning EEU observer status to Moldova, sent by the president of the country.

«If the presidents of the EEU countries approve changes to the regulations, the SEE Council may be endowed with a number of powers to make decisions in the field of customs regulation. Changes in the regulations, if approved, will come into force simultaneously with the Customs Code of the EEU. During the meeting of the Council, it is planned to adopt a number of personnel issues," the press service of the EEC commented.
