A station capable of inducing rainfall has been installed in Uzbekistan for the first time. The project was launched in Kanimekh district of Navoi region, the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The initiator is the khokim of the district, Ruslan Ruzayev. On his initiative, specialized equipment capable of influencing the atmosphere, forming cloud clusters and stimulating rainfall was delivered to the region.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Kazakhstan‑based International Centre of Climate Change Technologies.
Its goal is to combat drought and improve pasture conditions. Officials expect the technology to reduce reliance on natural water sources. Should the trials prove successful, similar stations may be installed in other districts across the country.
Earlier, China provided Kyrgyzstan with specialized equipment for inducing rain and pest control.
