The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) reported a rise in remittance inflows to Kyrgyzstan.
According to the EDB, the net inflow of remittances to the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to $414 million.
«Annual growth reached 15.5 percent (compared to 18.6 percent in 2024). Remittances from labor migrants continued to support domestic consumption: the volume of retail trade in January—February 2025 grew by 17 percent (18.5 percent growth for the last year). As expected, domestic demand remains the key driver of the economy in early 2025,» the EDB noted.
Earlier reports said that the total volume of remittances transferred to Kyrgyzstan in February 2025 amounted to $246.5 million.
