The Government of Japan will provide Kyrgyzstan with a grant in the amount of 500 million yen (about $3.44 million). However, the grant will not be given in cash — instead, Japan will use the funds to purchase four mobile diagnostic centers to serve residents in remote and hard-to-reach areas of the country.
Deputy Minister of Health Kaarmanbek Baidavletov explained to deputies of the Committee on Budget, Economic, and Fiscal Policy that the centers will be four off-road vehicles equipped as full diagnostic units. These centers will include MRI and CT scanners, X-ray machines, and ultrasound equipment.
The Committee on Budget approved the receipt of the grant.
