Gold mining has begun at Buchuk site of Solton-Sary gold deposit. The head of the Geology Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Rustam Beishen uulu, announced on the air of Birinchi Radio.
According to him, the volume of investments is about 900 million soms. According to the forecast, it is planned to mine about 2 tons of gold per year there.
The Ministry of Natural Resources notes that the development of this site will provide the local population with work and increase the flow of funds to the local budget.
Currently, about 300 people work there. Rustam Beishen uulu clarified that the number of workers could increase to a thousand.
Recall, President Sadyr Japarov visited this gold deposit in Naryn region in June 2022. He inspected Buchuk site, where the investor had once begun building the relevant infrastructure, but suspended all activities in 2019 after discontent from local residents. The explored gold reserves at the site amount to 12 tons. According to geologists’ forecasts, additional reserves of the precious metal could amount to 22 more tons.
