Orto-Sai market transferred to management of City Hall

By decision of the Bishkek City Court, Oberon market on the territory of Dordoi and part of Orto-Sai market have been transferred to the management of the City Hall. The municipality reported.

The city authorities noted that a land plot worth 3.9 billion soms was transferred to the ownership of the City Hall.

The municipality employees have already met with the sellers of these markets. Officials assured that new contracts will be concluded with the entrepreneurs and the market will continue to operate as before.

However, the market owners consider the actions of the City Hall illegal and are preparing a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court against the decision of the City Court.

It is known that Oberon market occupies more than 6 hectares and provides jobs for more than 3,000 vendors. As for the plot of land on Orto-Sai market, it previously belonged to Nurzhamal Baibolova.

She described the situation on Facebook. In her address, Baibolova noted that she had previously been unable to comment due to ongoing legal proceedings, but now she has decided to share the situation with the public.

According to her, their companies have operated transparently for 27 years, remaining among the largest taxpayers in the country. Nurzhamal Baibolova also emphasized that the lands they received were developed through their labor, and did not represent ready-made resources.

She claims that in recent years, her business has been subject to illegal attacks by the authorities under the pretext of transferring assets to the state. The entrepreneur also reported that her company has passed all inspections, and no violations have been found.

«Previously, we could win cases against the state even in the Supreme Court, but now we have been denied consideration of the claim in the Constitutional Chamber,» she posted.

Nurzhamal Baibolova said that in the event of a final decision regarding her company by the Supreme Court, she will appeal to international bodies to protect her rights. «The day will come when everyone will be held accountable for their actions and inactions,» she said, adding that she would continue to fight for her rights by all legal means.
