The parliamentary delegations discussed changes in Russia’s migration policy aimed at combating illegal migration.
Vasily Piskarev also confirmed the strategic partnership between the two countries and proposed joint activities to harmonize legislation in the field of combating corruption and security.
Jamilya Isaeva noted the high dynamics of political contacts between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic and the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. She also expressed interest in attracting investments and developing trade and economic relations between the two states.
The laws regarding migrants have been recently tightened in the Russian Federation. For example, the State Duma has begun to consider five bills at once concerning Russian migration policy.
Earlier, deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Mederbek Aliyev addressed his colleagues from the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who are adopting laws on tightening migration policy. According to the MP, for this reason, migrants from Russia are contacting him with concern.
