Kudret Taichabarov was dismissed from the post of President of the Tourism Development Support Fund on October 10, 2024 by decision of the Board of Directors. The fund confirmed this information to 24.kg news agency.
Kylychbek Rysaliev was appointed its new president. This decision was made by the Board of Directors of the fund on October 14, 2024.
Kudret Taichabarov was appointed head of the fund on March 20, 2024. In 2020, after the change of power, he became the General Director of Bishkek Free Economic Zone (FEZ). He was appointed by order of Sadyr Japarov, when he was prime minister.
For two years in public service, the official has repeatedly found himself at the center of a scandal for his statements. He wrote in a Facebook post that 30 percent of Kyrgyz women, who are in Turkey, are sex workers. In such a way Kudret Taichabarov expressed support for the initiative of the member of Parliament Shailoobek Atazov to restrict travel for girls aged 18-20.
This caused criticism against him, social media users called on the official not to generalize and not to forget how he himself got the position of head of the state enterprise.
Kudret Taichabarov was also remembered for getting into in a road accident. A 21-year-old guy was injured in it. The head of the Bishkek FEZ said that the young man did not know the traffic rules. The victim’s mother accused the official of lying.
He left the position of CEO of the FEZ in January 2023.
