Kyrgyzstan exported tourism services for $479 million in the first six months of 2024. Maksat Usubaliev, Director of the Tourism Department under the Ministry of Economy, reported.
According to him, investments in fixed capital in the tourism sector in the first half of 2024 amounted to 4,177 billion soms. Compared to the same period in 2023, they increased by 1.3 billion soms.
Over the first half of this year, the country exported tourism services for $479.7 million. For comparison: last year, this figure was slightly less than $471.1 million.
Maksat Usubaliev also noted that tax revenues in the tourism sector amounted to 2.7 billion soms in 2023. In 2024, the industry has replenished the budget by 1.5 billion.
Last year more than 28,000 people traveled through travel agencies, and 36 percent of them had a vacation in other countries, and 64 percent traveled across the republic.
