Armenia refuses to sign statements of Council of CIS Foreign Ministers

Armenia refused to sign the statements of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers. Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the republic’s Foreign Ministry, said.

Yerevan refused to join two final statements of the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers, Armenpress state agency reports.

Representatives of the republic did not sign the statements «On the principles of ensuring Eurasian security» and «On the inadmissibility of using unilateral restrictive measures in international relations.» Ani Badalyan did not name the reasons for this decision.

The meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers took place on October 7 in Moscow. The parties summed up the results of joint work on the implementation of Russia’s chairmanship in the organization in 2024. The meeting participants signed several documents concerning work in the field of international relations and joint cultural and sports events.

The meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers was held on the eve of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State, which will take place today, October 8.
