Kyrgyzstan and Angola establish diplomatic relations — MFA

A ceremony of establishing diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Angola was held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. A joint communiqué was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev and the Minister of Foreign Relations of Angola Tete Antonio.

The parties agreed to increase political dialogue and multifaceted cooperation through the mechanism of bilateral consultations and high-level visits.

The issues of education, combating climate change, tourism, security and interaction within international organizations were discussed as the main areas of cooperation for the development of bilateral relations at the initial stage.

Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed a request to support the candidacy of Kyrgyzstan for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2027-2028. He also asked Angola to support the Kyrgyz Republic’s obtaining observer status in the African Union.

Angola became the 172nd country with which the Kyrgyz Republic established diplomatic relations.
