Interior Ministry of Kazakhstan plans to tighten migration rules

It is planned to revise the procedure of deportation of foreign citizens in Kazakhstan. The Chairman of the Migration Service Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aslan Atalykov, reported.

According to him, the republic is discussing a package of amendments aimed at strengthening migration control.

It is planned to return the institution of mandatory registration for foreigners, who intend to stay in the country for more than 30 days, Aslan Atalykov said. The amendments also concern tightening administrative liability for fictitious registration of foreigners.

The head of the committee explained that the changes are also intended to simplify and speed up the procedure for deporting «obvious and malicious» violators of migration legislation who themselves agree with the violation. In his opinion, the current deportation procedure is complex and requires revision.

These measures are aimed at strengthening migration control and simplifying work with violators.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan approved a law on recognizing foreign citizens as undesirable. The country’s Senate approved amendments to the law on the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which provide for the possibility of declaring them undesirable.
