Early retirement abolished in Kyrgyzstan

Early retirement has been abolished in Kyrgyzstan. Zhenishbek Mukambetov, head of the Public Relations Department of the Social Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic, announced on the air of Birinchi Radio.

He recalled that the Law «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts,» including the Law «On State Pension Social Insurance,» came into force on July 1.

«Clause 1 of this Law states that men who have reached the age of 63 and women who have reached the age of 58 have the right to an old-age pension. In addition, the article on early retirement, introduced in 2008, has been excluded. It provided for retirement three years earlier in case of presence of additional work experience: for men — 40 years instead of the required 25, for women — 35 years instead of 20. They could retire at 60 and 55 years, respectively,» Zhenishbek Mukambetov said.

In addition, Article 10, which provided for the assignment of a pension with incomplete work experience, has been excluded.

«Before the pension system reform, pensions were assigned even with incomplete work experience. That is, if a person reached retirement age, but did not have the required work experience, he or she was assigned a basic pension, but its amount was proportionally reduced. For example, if a woman had only 10 years of work experience instead of the required 20 years, then instead of 3,170 soms, 1,750 soms were paid,» the head of the department emphasized.

It should be noted that temporarily — until December 31, 2025 — the required work experience has been reduced to five years for both men and women. If citizens have it, they will receive the full amount of the basic part. Then it will gradually begin to increase until 2040, when it will reach 20 years.
