A new unit has been opened at the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare in Bishkek. The press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, in addition to the hemodialysis department, the building will house an endocrinology department with 30 beds, a nephrology department with 30 beds, intensive care beds, a small operating room, as well as a large assembly hall and other utility rooms.
Particular attention was paid to equipping the departments with modern medical equipment. The hemodialysis center received four new 4008S classix — Fresenius Medical Care devices for children, provided by the As-Safa Foundation, and a water purification system and three hemodialysis devices for adults were installed, which were purchased last year at the expense of the presidential fund.
Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev emphasized that caring for the health of children and mothers is one of the important priorities of the ministry.
«We are glad that the construction work, suspended for various reasons, began in March 2024 and was completed in such a short time. This multidisciplinary unit will house not only diagnostic and treatment departments, but also scientific, organizational and methodological departments. Thanks to the support of the As-Safa Foundation, we can offer our patients modern conditions and equipment, which will significantly improve the quality of medical care. For many years, our departments, in particular hemodialysis one, worked in difficult conditions, using outdated equipment. Now we can proudly say that we have all the necessary resources for the treatment and rehabilitation of our little patients,» he said.
«Thanks to the new building and its equipment, the nephrology and endocrinology departments will also be able to significantly improve the quality of medical services provided. Last year, 476 patients with various kidney diseases received inpatient treatment in the nephrology department, and 900 children with endocrine pathologies — in the endocrinology department, 75 percent of whom suffer from type 1 diabetes,» the ministry added.
