24-year-old police officer saves woman attacked by her husband with knife

24-year-old senior police lieutenant Zhenish Mukanbetov saved a 41-year-old woman from her husband with a knife. The Department of Internal Affairs of Naryn region confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.

On August 31, a 44-year-old man came to his wife, who worked in one of the canteens at the market in Naryn city, approached her from behind, stabbed her in the neck, knocked her down and stabbed her several more times. The footage shows how the second woman was afraid to approach them, and at one point a man in police uniform runs into the room and pulls the attacker away from his wife. He twisted the man’s arms and led him out of the room.

The 41-year-old woman, who worked as a cook in this canteen, was hospitalized. Her 44-year-old husband was detained and placed in a pretrial detention center.

The Department of Internal Affairs of Naryn region told 24.kg news agency that the police officer, who saved the woman, works as an investigator at the Department of Internal Affairs of Naryn disrict. After the parade in honor of Independence Day, Zhenish Mukanbetov went to the market. There he saw a large crowd of people at the canteen, and when he noticed a man with a knife, who was hitting a woman, he rushed to pull him away. The Department of Internal Affairs noted that Mukanbetov has been working for the internal affairs agencies since 2018.
