The National Cinematography Council has been established in Kyrgyzstan. The corresponding resolution was signed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document specifies that the newly formed National Cinematography Council of the Kyrgyz Republic will include:
- Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers — Chairman;
- Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic — Deputy Chairman;
- Director of the Cinematography Department under the Ministry of Culture;
- Director of Kyrgyzfilm Film Studio named after Tolomush Okeyev;
- Director of Kyrgyzserial Creative and Production Association;
- Director of Kyrgyztasmasy Cinema Center;
- Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan;
- Chairman of the Association of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan;
- Chairman of the Association of Producers of Kyrgyzstan;
- Deputy Director of the Cinematography Department under the Ministry of Culture — Secretary.
In addition to officials, the following people are included in the Council:
- Member of the Parliament Mirlan Samyikozho;
- Doctor of Historical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences Abylabek Asankanov;
- People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, film director Aktan Arym Kubat;
- People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, film director Artykpai Suyundukov;
- People’s Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Asan Zhakshylykov;
- Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, film critic Gulbara Tolomushova;
- Film director Temirbek Birnazarov;
- Film director Shamil Japarov;
- Film director Zhumanazar Koichubekov.
The National Cinematography Council was created for effective interaction between executive authorities and film workers on issues of industry development.
