President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida. The press service of the head of state reported.
Sadyr Japarov expressed words of support to the Japanese people in connection with the recent earthquake in the southwest of the country.
«The parties discussed the state and prospects of development of Kyrgyzstan-Japan relations, exchanged views on issues of bilateral and regional cooperation,» the press service noted.
Fumio Kishida noted Japan’s unwavering commitment to strengthening relations with Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian states.
Central Asia + Japan summit with the participation of the heads of the region’s countries and the Prime Minister of Japan was to be held in Astana on August 9. It was canceled because Fumio Kishida could not arrive due to the threat of a strong earthquake in Japan.
