Kyrgyzstan offers Turkey to ease the conditions for obtaining a residence permit. The issue was raised at a meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers Almaz Imangaziev and Yasin Ekrem Serim on consular issues.
According to the Foreign Ministry’s press service, the sides explored the possibility of a pilot project on migration amnesty for citizens of Kyrgyzstan who violated Turkey’s migration laws.
Kyrgyzstan also offers Turkey on a parity basis to reduce the cost of permits for the citizens of the two countries, as well as to consider the possibility of mutual travel on internal passports.
The issues of protecting the rights and interests of citizens, creating favorable conditions for their stay and labor activity in the two countries were discussed, and draft documents on mutual recognition of driver’s licenses were considered.
The issues of implementation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations between the states on timely notification of the competent authorities of the parties and provision of consular access to detained, arrested or convicted citizens also became the subject of discussion.
