The authorities allocated 150 more million soms for the construction of the main canal in Kadamdzhai district. The press service of the office Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in Batken region reported.
The head of the region, Abdikarim Alimbaev, visited the facility. He inspected the work in three tunnels and the construction of open irrigation canals.
The Plenipotentiary Representative met with members of Algakadam Public Association and reported that the state had allocated another 150 million soms for the irrigation project, and he also assured that comprehensive support would continue.
Work was completed at the site for 720 million soms. Of these, 400 million soms were allocated from the fund of the head of state and the republican budget, 107 million soms were collected by local residents.
Construction of the main canal at Algakadam section in Kadamdzhai began in April 2022. It will provide irrigation water to 4,200 hectares of land. The total length of the canal is 24.9 kilometers and includes three tunnels with a total length of 6.3 kilometers. The approximate estimated cost of the project is 2,972 billion soms. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2027.
