Six applicants took part in the auction. The land plot with a starting rent of 5 million soms per year was granted to the winner with an annual rent of 32 million soms,» the City Hall said.
Earlier, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said that a financial and business center was planned to be built on the site of Ak-Kula hippodrome.
In early March 2023, Sadyr Japarov visited the site and ordered to make a proposal for its demolition to start construction of housing for mortgage lending in its place.
The landmark facility for the equestrian world of the republic, designed for 3,000 seats, was built in 1947 under the author’s project of honored architect of Kyrgyzstan Vladimir Nusov.
In the early 1990s, the sports facility was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1998, the ministry sold it to private entrepreneurs. Twenty years later, in 2018, the object was seized by court action and handed over to the City Hall. In 2019, the building of the hippodrome was recognized as dangerous and subject to demolition, and in 2020 the sports complex was deprived of the status of historical and architectural monument.
