An Austrian company will construct a cable car at Three Peaks ski resort. Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, signed the relevant order.
The document states that Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH has been designated as the supplier responsible for the delivery, design, and construction of the cable car infrastructure in Ak-Suu district of Issyk-Kul region as part of the project of state importance Three Peaks Ski Cluster, Zhyrgalan.
Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH Außenstelle Stetten is a branch of the Austrian holding company Doppelmayr, which specializes in the construction of cableways. The company has production facilities as well as sales and service branches in 50 countries. To date, it has implemented over 15,400 cableway systems in 96 countries.
The state enterprise Kyrgyz Courchevel, under the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, has been designated as the official customer for the equipment, works, and services.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the enterprise is founded by the Cabinet of Ministers and headed by Zharkynbek Maksutov.
The decree comes into effect from the date of signing and is valid for 18 months.
Earlier in March, the Kyrgyz project Three Peaks was presented to Austrian companies.
Notably, Doppelmayr’s history dates back to the 19th century. In 1893, Konrad Doppelmayr, who had previously worked in a rented smithy in Hard, Austria, purchased a mechanized forge in Wolfurt from his mentor, Josef Anton Dür. Initially, the company produced tools and repaired machinery, including chaff cutters, axes, splitting tools, and grappling hooks for farms and textile factories. In 1900, the company began producing juice and wine presses, most of which were exported to winemakers in South Tyrol. Only a few years later, Doppelmayr began manufacturing lifts.
