Consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China were held in the Chinese city of Qingdao, during which important consular issues related to cooperation and joint efforts on various aspects of interaction between the two countries were discussed. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
One of the key aspects of the discussion was the issue of visa regime liberalization between the Kyrgyz Republic and the PRC.
The parties emphasized the importance of simplification and acceleration of visa issuance procedures for citizens of both countries, which contributes to the strengthening of tourism, business and cultural ties.
During the consultations, special attention was paid to the protection of rights and interests of citizens and enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China. Readiness for active cooperation in this area was voiced to ensure justice and legality in the activities of citizens and entrepreneurs.
The issue of transfer of convicted persons was also discussed. The Kyrgyz side made a request to the Chinese side for assistance in accelerating consideration of the issue on the transfer of convicted citizens from China to Kyrgyzstan. The need to intensify cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China on this issue was noted.
