The State Security Service of Uzbekistan prevented export of 80 million rubles to Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the state service reported.
As the statement says, employees of the service department for Namangan region took part in the operational activities. As a result, they detained a local resident who was trying to take Russian currency abroad. The man put the money in three plastic bags and then hid them in his car. He tried to illegally transport the funds to Kyrgyzstan.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the article «Violation of customs legislation on an especially large scale» of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The offender faces eight years in prison.
