Implementation of third stage of clean water project starts in Osh city

Implementation of the third stage of the project on provision with clean water began in Osh city. The press service of the City Hall reported.

The project «Head Water Intake Structure in the Floodplain of Ak-Buura River at Dangi site» (water supply line 2,400 meters long to the existing dam in Toloikon village) has been launched.

The project includes construction of a 7-meter high dam at Dangi site and a water supply line. The work is scheduled to be completed in August.

«Due to the growing population and increasing area of the city, the need for clean water will increase day by day. With the implementation of the project, water supply to Osh residents during heavy rains, floods and mudflows will be ensured,» the City Hall said.

The project is supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in order to carry out water intake to the mudflow-prone area in Ozgur village upstream of Ak-Buura river.
