SCNS detains Kyrgyzstani for posting provocative materials on social media

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) suppressed the activities of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who posted provocative materials on Facebook. The state committee reported.

According to it, the man posted tendentious, provocative materials on Facebook aimed at promoting the exclusivity of citizens based on regional affiliation, which is a criminal offense under the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

«On January 9, 2024, during a search in the house of the citizen, a mobile phone was found and seized as material evidence, which was used by the suspect in committing a criminal act against interregional peace and harmony in the Kyrgyz Republic,» the SCNS said in the statement.

An investigation is underway.
