No Kyrgyzstanis among killed or injured in terrorist attack in Iran

There are no citizens of Kyrgyzstan among the killed or injured as a result of the blasts in southeast Iran. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

At least 103 people have been killed, 140 more have been injured by two bomb explosions near the tomb of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in the city of Kerman in southeastern Iran.

Major General Qasem Soleimani, commander of an elite unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was assassinated on the night of January 3, 2020. Under then U.S. President Donald Trump, a special operation to eliminate the general was carried out because he intended to blow up the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. In response, Iran launched missile strikes on two Iraqi military bases where military personnel from the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State terrorist group were stationed.
