The Cabinet notes that this emphasizes the leading role of Kyrgyzstan among mountainous states and the desire to unite international efforts in this area.

The Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions is aimed at ensuring that mountain countries apply the full range of joint actions to adapt and mitigate the negative effects of climate change, develop a green economy and technology, create financial mechanisms to strengthen cooperation among themselves, develop science and education in the field of sustainable mountain development, conservation of biological diversity and disaster prevention in mountain regions.
