Kyrgyzstan to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan

Kyrgyzstan will provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan affected by the earthquake. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

On behalf of President Sadyr Japarov, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will soon deliver 100 tons of food to Afghanistan, including 75 tons of flour, 20 tons of sugar, 5 tons of sunflower oil, 500 beds, the same number of warm blankets and mattresses. Women and children will receive winter clothes, shoes, toys, food and personal hygiene products worth 1 million soms at the expense of the funds allocated by the International Civil Defense Organization.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 was recorded in the northwestern part of the city of Herat in Afghanistan on October 7, 2023. More than 2,000 people were killed, 9,200 people were injured, more than 1,300 houses were damaged.
