Editor-in-Chief of NazarNews taken for interrogation to SCNS

Editor-in-Chief of NazarNews, Gulzhan Sheripbaeva, reported that she was taken for questioning to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). She posted about this on Facebook.

She did not provide details about the causes and what case they want to interrogate her about.

The editor of Fabula newspaper also wrote that his colleague was taken for interrogation to the SCNS. But he also doesn’t know the details.

In October, the Ministry of Culture decided to block NazarNews website unless the editors remove false information that discredits the honor, dignity and business reputation of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov. After receiving the letter, which was signed by the deputy head of the ministry, Chyngyz Esengulov, the publication was removed from the website and it was not blocked.

In her social media posts, Gulzhan Sheripbaeva supports ex-customs officer Raiymbek Matraimov.
